Obituary for Laurraine M.L. Aiona

78, was a compassionate, caring, patient and forgiving soul who enjoyed life to the fullest. Surrounded by loving family and friends, she joined our Lord on March 17, 2018. Preceded in death by her husband David H. K. Aiona, she is survived by her sisters Thelma Swope, Charlotte Aiona, Patricia Wentela; brother Charles Wright; Nephews Johnny Aiona, Leonard Aiona and many more; sons David Lewellen-Aiona, Kele Aiona; daughter Meilani Higashi; grandchildren Bronson Higashi, Brandon Higashi, Jandie Lee Hernando, Keshia Aiona, Brickwood Higashi and 14 great-grandchildren.

The Matriarch of the family, she was our sister, mother, aunty, cousin, grandma and Tutu. Treating everyone she knew as Ohana with respect and love. She was the foundation of the family and the glue that held it together. Laurraine loved cooking, gathering with Ohana, sharing her love of God and many of life’s lessons. Most of all she cherished the Keiki with whom she shared her passion for life, teaching them to be caring and patient. She loved singing with the Keiki and attending all of her children’s events. Devout of faith, Laurraine helped build the Nanakuli (Nanaikapono) Protestant Church with family and friends. Her many qualities remain unmatched in the love, comfort and concern she had for all.

Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, April 21st, Subland (Zablan) Beach Park. Visitation: 8am Services: 9am Travel to Waianae Boat Harbor: 10:30am Scattering of Ashes: 12 Noon. Pa’ina to follow. Casual attire. Friends welcome. The family requests no flowers.
